Dr. Michelle Kwan
Professional Side
Dr. Michelle grew up in the Bay Area, California, and has gradually made her way from coast to coast. She attended Rice University in Houston, where she earned her B.A. in Cognitive Science, and went on to Texas A&M College of Dentistry, where she ranked third in her graduating class. During dental school, she was inducted into the Odontological Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. She then completed a rigorous two-year pediatric dental residency at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she served as chief resident in her second year.
Dr. Michelle is a board-certified pediatric dentist and is passionate about providing her patients with the highest level of care. She strives to tailor each visit to the family and child to ensure a fun, positive, and educational experience. She has remained active in conducting research from undergraduate through residency and believes in an evidence-based approach to dentistry. Meanwhile, her extensive hospital training in pediatrics and special healthcare needs has shaped her philosophy of child-centered and team-based care in pediatric dentistry.
Personal Side
When she is not in the office, Dr. Michelle enjoys running outdoors, weightlifting, traveling, attending live music concerts, and exploring Costco with her husband (she loves Costco so much that she once had a cat named Kirkland). Fun fact: She played the violin for 11 years, and in high school, she joined the world-renowned San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and has performed in Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg. Their live recording of Mahler Symphony No. 1 at the Berlin Philharmonie can be found on Spotify!
She is fluent in Cantonese, can understand Mandarin, and has basic proficiency in Spanish.
